When we arrived, modern wooden doors invited us into the courtyard of our villa where daybeds and lounges beckoned. We were met with calming views over stretches of rice paddies as the ocean glistened in the distance. The only sounds were chirping birds and the occasional rumblings of the ocean as it crashed onto the black sands of Sanur beach. There was a pool wrapped around the living area of our courtyard which was the perfect size to go for a lazy swim and cool off.
The Samata Sanur is the perfect retreat for any couples craving a bit of health and fitness for the body and mind. It has been designed for the health-conscious traveller which is in line with the philosophy of the resort’s parent company, Lifestyle Retreats. The gym has been fully equipped to the CrossFit methodology – meaning all those F45 buffs out there will be able to keep it up on their holiday! There’s also yoga, pilates and meditation classes running daily, spa pampering, full-on cardio workouts (hello, a full boxing ring!), weights training or the option to work up the sweat with a bit of (not so friendly) competition on the tennis court with your new spouse. The restaurant also offers gourmet health-conscious meals (as well as naughty treats – because we all like to indulge) so all that hard work shredding for the wedding won’t be completely undone.
We were lucky enough to enjoy a romantic dinner under the stars. Candles and petals were placed delicately in our own villa which added to the ambience of a delicious 3-course bespoke seasonal tasting menu. It’s an absolute must for anyone visiting The Samata! Book it in a few days before your wedding as a chance to enjoy some valuable time together or anytime on your honeymoon to reminisce on your incredible wedding and look forward to all the exciting things to come.
