It’s a celebration of all things that we expect to be trending this year, featuring gowns from some of our favourite Australian designers. So many Australian designers are doing incredible things in the bridal scene – reinventing tired traditional bridal gowns into modern masterpieces.

CUT OUTS
This strapless gown by Dan Jones has the most gorgeous cut outs which shows a slither of waist and back – the perfect amount of skin.

SHE WEARS THE PANTS

THE COLD SHOULDER

EMBELLISHMENT
We love this sophisticated gown by Silvana Tedesco with a cut out at the waist and intricate detailing. The pairing of the traditional embellishment with the modern silhouette and cut outs makes for the most perfect contrast for modern, fashion conscious brides.
ONE SHOULDER
This one shoulder beauty by Dan Jones gives out a real grecian vibe, but the added slit provides the perfect modern twist.
FLORALS
Clean oversized florals are undeniably popular in 2017.
ACCESSORIES
Tassels made a huge impact at NYC Bridal Fashion week late in 2016. So be on the front foot of the trend and incorporate them into your wedding day look. These earrings by Jeanette Maree are a hybrid between beautifully classic wedding earrings with a modern tassel as a fun twist.
Crowns for weddings have been outdated for many years, but this has left a gap in many brides-to-be hearts who longed to have the crowning glory to complete the ‘princess’ look on their big day. Put away the tiara and instead opt for an embellished headband for Blair Waldorf levels of cool.
HAIR & MAKEUP
Less is more in bridal hair this year. The chignon that once dominated bridal hair and took hours and thousands of bobby pins to create has been replaced with textured, beach waved hair. Add a top knot or a messy high pony if up do’s are more your thing.
For makeup, metallics are in. Add a hint of gold or silver to an understated smokey eye and you’ve got yourself a winner!
